Summary:
The Engineer will provide technical expertise in support of oil & gas pipelines and associated facilities located in Carlsbad, NM. The successful candidate will also evaluate, scope, and execute small to medium capital projects. This candidate will also support the Operations Department in maintenance activities and optimization projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
Work with field operations personnel (daily) to help improve field operations and to troubleshoot equipment issues
Implement entire project cycle for capital projects including scope, design, development, material procurement, construction, and project completion for both oil and gas type facilities
Communicate with company operations personnel and contractors for small and large project implementation
Work closely with Business Development in growing the asset footprint with major capital projects and improvements
Build and maintain facility simulations and pipeline simulations to develop solutions that comply with LM engineering standards, industry codes, appropriate company and safety standards, and good engineering practices
Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering knowledge base and proficiencies
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Disciplines in Chemical or Mechanical Engineer is preferred
5+ years of experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Products and Engineering Programs
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience
Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record
Occasional overnight travel will be required
Regular visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery that require appropriate personal protective equipment
